Dr. Maiya Yokich

Dentist in South River, Ontario

Dr. Maiya Yokich went to elementary and high school in Cambridge, Ontario and spent a lot of time growing up at her family home in Wanup, Ontario. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph and then went on to pursue her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto. After completing her education, she moved up north and worked in Bracebridge for 5 years. Her time providing dental care in Bracebridge was very fulfilling, and an important step on her journey towards realizing her goal of owning a dental practice and establishing her life up north.

She is incredibly excited to now be here in South River, serving the Almaguin community and putting down roots in the north. Dr. Maiya is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, Ontario Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association. Dr. Maiya is accomplished in all areas of general dentistry, with a particular enjoyment in restorative, surgical, pediatric, and clear aligner orthodontic dentistry. Through her practicum at the University of Toronto, she worked with patients with special needs, as well as patients from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

Dr. Maiya is motivated to provide her patients with a relaxing and comfortable experience. Her goal is to work together with her patients so that they may be active participants in their oral health planning and care. She is also an avid believer in continuing education and looks forward to extending her learning continuously throughout her career to be able to deliver the highest standard of care.

Outside of the office, Dr. Maiya’s true passion is the outdoors. She’s a backcountry hiking and camping enthusiast, and she loves golfing, running, and any activity that involves being on the water. Dr. Maiya and her partner, Joel, share a love for exploration and are always eagerly planning their next adventure.
