Short Notice Cancellation Policy

At Almaguin Family Dental, our goal is to provide high-quality dental care to our community in a timely and fair manner. Because our schedule operates at a very high demand with patients often waiting months for routine services, a reserved appointment time that goes unused directly impacts another community member’s access to care.


To ensure our clinic resources are used effectively to serve everyone, we request your cooperation with our appointment policy. By scheduling an appointment, entering our clinic, or receiving care at our practice, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this policy.

Notice Requirements

We require a minimum of 2 business days' notice for any appointment rescheduling or cancellations. This allows our administration team sufficient time to offer the open time slot to patients currently on our priority waitlist.

Missed Appointment Fees

A missed appointment fee of $75.00 will be applied to accounts for appointments cancelled without 2 business days' notice, or for "no-show" appointments where a patient fails to arrive.


**Important Notes**


  • The Empty Chair Exception: If you must cancel last-minute but we are successfully able to fill your spot with a patient from our waitlist, you will not be charged.
  • Outstanding missed appointment fees must be settled before future appointments can be scheduled or confirmed.
  • Patients who miss more than one appointment or repeatedly provide insufficient notice may be required to pre-pay for future appointments.

Patient Responsibility

All appointments are confirmed at the time of booking. As a courtesy, our office also provides automated email and SMS reminders. Please note that patients are responsible for attending, cancelling, or rescheduling their appointment(s). Failure to receive a reminder message does not exempt patients from our cancellation policy.


We encourage you to add “info@almaguindental.com” to your email contacts to avoid emails being filtered to the “Spam” or “Junk” folders.

100% Community Reinvestment

Almaguin Family Dental does not profit from missed appointments. We do not believe in retaining operational revenue where no clinical service was provided.


Therefore, 100% of all missed appointment fees collected are redirected directly back into our local community. These funds are used strictly for local sponsorships, community donations, and direct purchases from independent, neighbouring small businesses throughout the Almaguin region. In the spirit of transparency, a ledger of cancellation policy-related community investment can be requested at any time.
